Delighted to be back, new Healthy Lifestyles Manager, Chris Rigby, said: “It has been a long 12 months, but we are happy to be back. We are excited to get back to helping people across Pendle move more with our Up and Active specialists.
“Whilst we are still offering the same level of quality service, there have been some changes, including me as the new Healthy Lifestyles Manager, two new babies in the team - with a third on the way - and more ways to get up and active with us!"
Up and Active consists of a team of exercise and weight management specialists experienced in working with people living with long-term health conditions. The team is part of Pendle Leisure Trust and they use the Trust’s leisure facilities to help people move more and lose weight.
The scheme is available for anyone aged 16 years and over, inactive and having one or more long-term health conditions. The team is there to support people who are ready to make a change and help those who are doing nothing, move towards doing something.
Chris added: “We understand that for many people at the moment COVID-19 still remains a concern, but we have done everything we can with our colleagues at Pendle Leisure Trust to ensure that safety comes first.
“All the Trust’s leisure centres have been thoroughly cleaned and are meeting the Government’s health and safety guidelines, ensuring we can all return to exercising safely.
“Along with this, all staff have gone through thorough training and are equipped with the appropriate PPE to give all new and existing Up and Active members the reassurance and peace of mind that we can support them in a safe environment.
“Now we just look forward to getting more and more people up and active!”
