A total of 71 people donned Santa suits on Saturday 28th November to take part in Pendle Leisure Trust’s Santa Fun Run – and raised £177 for Pendleside Hospice.
The group of adults and children completed the 5km run in just 30 minutes or less!
Setting off from Seedhill Athletics Track in Nelson, they completed the circular route along the by-pass, round Victoria Park and back to Seedhill.
They set off at 9am and the first runners were back at the finish line by 9.15am, with the rest following shortly behind. There was a separate track-based 1km race for children.
Manager of Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre, Paul Whittaker, said: “It was great to see so many Santas in one place at the same time! The route was exceptionally straight forward to cater for all fitness levels, with the emphasis definitely on the word fun – but it didn’t take them long, with the first ones completing the course in just 15 minutes!”
All the money raised from the event, which was sponsored by MBS Corporate Advisory of Barrowford, will go to Pendleside Hospice.
