Pendle Leisure Trust is looking for young, local, talented athletes to help to progress and succeed further in their chosen sport.
If you know someone aged between 12 and 18, who lives in Pendle and currently represents Lancashire in their sport, then they may be eligible for help with training.
Pendle Leisure Trust wants to give young people the opportunity to further their potential in the sporting world and has introduced the Talented Athletes Scheme, which recognises and supports individuals with true sporting talent in Pendle, who are working towards the highest levels of success in their chosen sport.
The scheme offers free, limited use of Pendle Leisure Trust’s swimming pools, fitness suites and exercises classes at Pendle Wavelengths in Nelson, Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne and West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick, as a means of assisting with training programmes.
Pendle Leisure Trust’s Operations Manager, Quammer Iqbal, said: “This scheme recognises the importance of supporting Pendle’s young people in achieving their sporting goal.
“Through the creation of the Talented Athletes Scheme, young sportsmen and women will be helped and encouraged to compete in regional, national and even international competitions.”
If you, or someone you know who meets the criteria, is interested and needs help with free, extra training, apply online at www.pendleleisuretrust.co.uk/talented-athletes/
