If you fancy doing something festive whilst keeping fit, having fun AND raising money for charity, then sign up to take part in Pendle Leisure Trust’s Santa Fun Run.
Adults & children (7 years and above) are being invited to don a Santa suit and run round Seedhill Athletics Track and Victoria Park in Nelson.
The 2km event will take place on Sunday, December, 18th. Competitors are asked to meet at Seedhill at 9.30am for a 10am start.
Supervisor of Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre, Danny Owens, said: “I can’t wait to see all the Santas in one place. It will be a great event, it will bring the local community together whilst raising money for such a great cause like Pendleside Hospice.
“The route is exceptionally straightforward to cater for all fitness levels, with the emphasis definitely on the word fun. The route is one lap around the running track, then into Victoria Park with one lap round the park including a lap around the pond and then back to Seedhill to finish the circuit. It isn’t a race, so people can do it at their leisure.
”Individuals, groups, work colleagues, basically anyone and everyone can take part and do it any way they want - hop, skip, jump or run! It should be quite a sight to behold as hopefully scores of Santas set off around the track at 10am.”
Entry is £5 per adult, which includes a one-size-fits-all Santa suit or £2 if no suit is required. Entry for children (7 years and above) is £1 and they are encouraged to bring along their own Santa costumes. All proceeds to Pendleside Hospice.
Anyone wanting to take part can enter by emailing danny.owens@pendleleisuretrust.co.uk or calling 01282 661616.
