"I joined the gym at PLT, Colne, almost 12 months ago, I've tried every weight loss trick going but ultimately I'd never be able to stick to anything and after losing weight I'd eventually gain back everything I'd lost and more, I'd been in the same vicious cycle since having my first child 6 years ago.

The tipping point for me was seeing a photo of myself on a night out, not only did I not recognise who I'd become physically, I lacked confidence, had zero self-esteem and struggled with anxiety on a daily basis, so much so that I rarely left the house unless it was for work.

I joined PLT on a recommendation from a friend. I can't begin to describe how nervous I felt the first day I walked through the door. Jordon had been recommended as a personal trainer at PLT and thankfully, he carried out my induction on my first ever day; he was friendly, approachable, and made me feel at ease.

If anybody would have told me 10 months ago that I'd be having regular PT sessions, I wouldn't have believed them. I felt most comfortable hiding at the back of the gym on a treadmill. Yes, I started to see results, but I was becoming bored with the same cardio routine, and the threat of giving up and resorting back to old habits was very real.

I initially took advantage of the free PT session that Pendle Leisure offers to all members. Jordon took the time to work with me during these sessions to develop a tailored training programme that met my needs. He brought me out from the back of the gym and helped me to build confidence in using all the equipment on offer. More importantly, he helped me to understand that every member is on their own journey and that nobody is watching or judging you during a workout.

I've been having weekly PT sessions with Jordon since November 2021, and I honestly couldn't have ever envisaged being at the stage I'm at now. I've lost 18 kilograms in weight and dropped 3 dress sizes. The impact this has had on my mental health and confidence has been instrumental. Under the support and guidance of Jordon, my fitness ability and strength has increased enormously, I'm doing exercises and free weights now that I never thought would be possible, and more importantly, I'm actually enjoying them.

I don't think I would have ever come this far without Jordon pushing and encouraging me every step of the way. Jordon is clearly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and passionate in his role. He's taken time to listen and take on board my goals and, in doing so, has developed a training programme that focuses on these. He has the ability to make you feel at ease, ensuring he demonstrates each exercise whilst observing and encouraging you to keep top form throughout. There has been times I've been extremely hard on myself and my progress, but Jordon has kept me focused and supported me in identifying the positives in my journey. I can't recommend Jordon or PLT enough; he is a true asset to this establishment, and I can't imagine not continuing to reach my goals without his support or encouragement."
