| Geeth Kumara is a professional cricket player who travelled from Sri Lanka earlier this summer to play for Colne Cricket Club as their pro this season. Geeth has been playing cricket since he was 11 years old and has been visiting the UK each season as a professional player for 13 years. He told us that this lifestyle is something that he is now used to “apart from the English weather”, which we know all too well about. At Pendle Leisure Trust we recognise the level of commitment needed for professional athletes to continue their training in between games, and so we’re proud to be the home of Geeth’s workouts whilst here in the UK. Mainly using Pendle Leisure Centre due to his residence in Colne, Geeth takes advantage of our swimming pool for recovery after a long weekend of cricket. He often visits us during our midday adults swimming session, and has become a very welcome addition to the Activo family. This will be Geeth’s 3rd summer playing for Colne Cricket Club, and we hope to welcome him back to the area for a 4th |
