A cheque for £355 was presented by Pendle Leisure Trust to the Mayor of Pendle for his chosen charities.
The money was raised from a raffle held at this year’s Pendle Sports Awards.
The awards, a joint venture between Pendle Leisure Trust and Leader Times Newspapers, recognise our local sporting heroes and the winners in a number of categories were honoured during a gala dinner at The ACE Centre in Nelson, at the end of September.
The awards are aimed at rewarding both sporting excellence and those who operate behind the scenes to make sure that all our sporting heroes can actually take to the field of play.
Categories included Team of the Year, Rising Star, Unsung Hero and Sporting Achievement.
