One of Pendle Leisure Trust’s Talented Athletes will be flying the flag for Great Britain when he competes in his chosen sport next month.
Robert Holmes is to represent Team GB in the World Junior Alpine Ski Championships in Panorama, Canada, from the 1st - 9th March 2022.
And his parents – John and Andrea Holmes – have thanked Pendle Leisure Trust for the years of continued support to help their son achieve such an amazing goal.
Robert has been chosen by the UK Alpine Skiing Governing Body - GB Snowsport - to participate in a number of events - Giant Slalom – Slalom - Super G and Alpine Combined.
The Higherford athlete’s proud father, John, said: “This is a fabulous achievement for Robert and is a reward for his hard work, dedication and the progression he has made this winter.
“We would personally like to thank Pendle Leisure Trust and the Talented Athletes scheme for the continued commitment and support Robert has received.
“The Trust has been amazing and we hope this news goes some way to repaying the faith it has placed in Robert and the journey he hopes he can share in the future.”
