Pendle Leisure presents Christmas Craft Fairs

Monday, 9th November 2015

Pendle Leisure Trust’s Good Life Project is holding a number of Christmas Craft Fairs throughout December.

The first one will be held at the project’s premises at Hodge House Allotments, off Reedyford Road in Nelson, on Saturday, December 5th between 11am and 3pm.

In partnership with neighbouring allotments,Garden Able, the two community horticulture projects will be selling Christmas gifts they have hand-made, including some new garden friends, Stumpies, designed by Geoff from Garden Able and constructed by attendees of both projects.

There will also be spicy Pots of Hot, lovingly created chilli-themed preserves made at The ACE Centre, Nelson, by The Good Life Project; as well as little hedgehog bookcrafts, papercrafts, Christmas tree decorations, cards and other stocking-fillers.

There will also be a similar event at the same time the following Friday, December 11th at The Shop in Leeds Road, Nelson. Why not also have a coffee and browse in Nelson’s quirkiest new arts and vintage shop – you might even find a few more presents to tick off your Christmas shopping list!

The Good Life Project is a therapeutic horticulture programme run by Pendle Leisure Trust and funded by the Big Lottery – Reaching Communities Programme. Its main aim is to get people out of the house and in to a safe and non-judgemental environment, while benefitting from being out in the fresh air, being close to nature and learning new skills.

Activities take place in the quiet and peaceful setting of Hodge House Allotments and include growing fruit, vegetables and flowers, wood-working, art activities and general gardening.
