A fire broke out at Inside Spa at Pendle Wavelengths, Nelson, around 10.30am on Wednesday.
The entire building was evacuated immediately and all the customers were escorted safely to a community centre in Leeds Road, while fire-fighters worked on extinguishing the blaze.
Chief Executive of Pendle Leisure Trust, Phil Storey, said: “At this stage we do not know how the fire started, but it does look like it was contained within the Spa area and did not spread upstairs into the gym and fitness studio.
“We will have a better idea once we can get back in the building to assess the extent of the damage.
“I would like to thank the swift actions of the fire-fighters for getting the fire under control so quickly, and the staff at Pendle Wavelengths who did a fantastic job evacuating the building and getting everyone out safely, which was our main concern.”
We're working hard to rectify this issue and will notify all of our customers as soon as further information becomes available. We'd like to thank all of our customers for their patience during this time.
