Pendle Leisure Trust has made the decision to convert from the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, which children currently follow, to an inspiring new programme from the STA (Swimming Teachers Association).
The STA Learn To Swim programme will operate across all three of Pendle Leisure Trust’s pools as part of an initiative to implement a more exciting scheme.
The change will embrace all areas of swimming, ensuring a standardised programme is delivered to all learners.
Christine Britton, Pendle Leisure Trust’s Swimming Coordinator, said: “I believe this fantastic new programme will further improve children’s swimming standards, as well as offer increased child enjoyment and additional teacher support.
“The new programme will have a slightly different awards structure, but our teachers have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition between the awarding bodies, so that every child’s swimming programme continues to the highest standard.”
Children who enrol onto the Academy will be given a 16-page Success Tracker so they, and their parents, can follow and map their progress.
Christine added: “This partnership with STA is a fantastic opportunity for us and we are very excited to offer a fresh, innovative swim programme to our customers.
“Youngsters will benefit by getting the best use of the space available in our pools and we will offer a more extensive programme, incorporating advanced swimming and Junior Lifeguard courses, as well as increasing grass roots level classes.”
Leanne Dougliss, STA’s Interim Sales and Marketing Director, added: “We are very happy to launch STA’s swim programme with Pendle Leisure Trust. Swimming is a vital life skill that all children should be given the opportunity to learn. They have embraced this opportunity to start a brand new swim scheme and we are delighted to be able to offer a current, quality programme that is appealing to learners of all ages and abilities.”
