If you fancy doing something festive and raising funds for a good cause at the same time, then sign up to take part in Pendle Leisure Trust’s Santa Fun Run.
People of all ages are being invited to don a Santa suit and run round Seedhill Athletics Track and Victoria Park in Nelson, to raise money for Pendleside Hospice.
The 5km event will take place on Saturday, November 28th. Adults will set off at 9am and there will be a separate track-based 1km race for children, setting off at 9.40am.
Manager of Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre, Paul Whittaker, said: “I can’t wait to see all the Santas in one place. It will be a great event and hopefully we will raise a lot of money for this very worthy cause.
“The route is exceptionally straight forward to cater for all fitness levels, with the emphasis definitely on the word fun. The route is twice around the running track, then into Victoria Park, round the park and back to Seedhill to finish with two more laps of the track. It isn’t a race, so people can do it at their leisure.
”Individuals, groups, work colleagues, basically anyone and everyone can take part and do it any way they want, hop, skip, jump or run! It should be quite a sight to behold as hopefully scores of Santas set off around the track at 9am.”
Entry is £10 per adult, which includes a Santa suit, with £2.50 of the money being donated to Pendleside Hospice, and £2.50 each for children. The event is being sponsored by MBS Corporate Advisory of Barrowford.
