Get on your bike for The Tour Of Britain!

On Monday 7^th September, The Tour Of Britain comes to Colne. Cycle fever has gripped the nation and it’s made its way into our centres too!

To mark the occasion, we have a whole host of activities aimed at getting you on your bike. But fear not, you don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to join in, we’ve got something for everyone regardless of your age or ability.

We’ve already brought you #PedalLeisureTrust, but now we’re inviting you to saddle up as we set the wheels in motion for you! Here’s what to look out for as the Tour Of Britain enters Colne:

Pendle Leisure Centre:

• Manned bike storage – with restrictions on bikes around the town centre, you can park up your bike safe and secure inside our centre which will be manned throughout the event.
• Fancy dress spinning class – watch the professionals fly past as you take part in your own cycle race with a twist! Get into the spirit of The Tour by donning a Union Jack morph suit whilst competing to win a host of prizes. As the professionals set off on the 150km route, staff and customers at Pendle Leisure Centre will shadow the race and in a relay fashion, will continue until Sir Bradley and his crew cross the finishing line in Colne. • Free blood pressure checks – get a quick health MOT.
• Balanceability – we’ll be putting the next generation of Bradley Wiggins through their paces with our specially adapted Balanceability bikes. These free sessions are ideal for youngsters wanting to learn how to set their own wheels in motion.

The Muni:

• Big screen – for those wanting a front row seat, we’ll be broadcasting all of the stage live at The Muni on our big screen.
• Outdoor BBQ – weather permitting, we’ll be keeping your energy reserves up with homemade burgers.
• Snacks and refreshments - the Lesser Muni will be serving an assortment of food and drink.
• Stay refreshed – our bar will also be open to serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the designated cyclists!

Pendle Wavelengths:

• Spinning class – get on your bike and watch the Tour go by! This is your opportunity to join in the race.
• Free blood pressure checks – get a quick health MOT.

West Craven Sports Centre:

• Spinning class – as the professionals enter the sprint stages of the race, we’ll be inviting you to do the same! We’ll be hosting a 30 second sprint challenge in Barnoldswick town centre with prizes awarded to the winners.
• Big screen – there will be a big screen in Barnoldswick town centre alongside our spinning bike so that you don’t miss a kilometre of the action!
• Health MOT – members of our team will be on hand to give out health assessments.
