Pendle Leisure Trust’s Good Life Project – which helps to change lives through therapeutic horticulture – is looking for donations to enable it to keep providing this valuable service.
The community scheme is a therapeutic horticultural programme based at Hodge House Allotments in Nelson, run by Pendle Leisure Trust. Its aim is to improve the health and well-being of individuals who may be isolated, inactive or have mild to moderate mental health issues.
This is a community project that is totally reliant on external funding - which has now dried up - so donations are desperately needed in order to keep it going - otherwise it will cease to exist!
The Good Life Project Manager, Kathy Titterton, said: “Like so many community projects, The Good Life is a lifeline to many people who rely on us to provide vital social connections and therapeutic activities.
“The pandemic hit us hard, but we believe our message of the health and well-being benefits of gardening is even more relevant at this time. This is why we are asking for financial support.
“Making a donation is a way of reaching out a helping hand. By providing even a small amount, you can be part of The Good Life Project in providing a vital service to your local community.
“With your help, we can support people to improve their confidence, skills and well-being, by reducing isolation and building relationships and we guarantee 100% of all donations will fund The Good Life Project.
“Any donation will be invaluable in ensuring this programme can continue in the future to support our beneficiaries who rely heavily on what we do.”
