Anne Nolan Takes Final Bow From Showbiz

Monday, 8th January 2018

Singing sensation – Anne Nolan – is to end her show business career in Colne.

After more than 40 years in the limelight, Anne has decided to bow out to enjoy retirement.

Her final performing role is playing the part of Queen Cruella in ‘Snow White’ at the Muni Theatre in Colne, throughout this month. So if you want to see this famous singing sister before she disappears from the entertainment world for good, make sure you catch her in Colne, before January 21st!

The singer and actress was discovered, along with her siblings, in her home town of Blackpool in her early 20s. Initially performing with her parents as The Singing Nolans, like every good fairy story, an impromptu gig attended by an influential man in the business led to an offer they couldn’t refuse.

The male members of the family seemed hesitant about getting on the road to stardom, but the Nolan girls were adamant – they wanted to be famous. So The Nolan Sisters were born.

During the late 70s and early 80s they provided wholesome music for prime-time shows such as ‘The Two Ronnies’ and ‘Morecambe and Wise’. They supported Frank Sinatra on tour, had a regular slot on Cliff Richard’s Saturday night TV show and achieved chart success at home and abroad with their number one hit ‘I’m In The Mood For Dancing’ in 1979.

During their successful musical career, The Nolans sold more than 50 million records worldwide, including eight Top 30 singles and 11 Top 30 albums.

Like her sisters, Anne spent a few years dipping in and out of recording more songs and appearing in panto, before going solo in 2005.

For her grand finale before she takes her final bow, Anne has re-joined PMA Productions Ltd to play her favourite panto part as Snow White’s evil stepmother.

She will be joined on stage by star of Eastenders and CBBC’s The Dumping Ground, Mark Homer, George Critchley, who for his 22nd consecutive year at Colne, will play the Dame, Grant Brookes, Emma Brown, Oliver Bower and Amy Isaac.

The cast will, as always, be supported by East Lancashire School of Dance (Whalley) and Pendle Academy (Colne).

Along with a full, professional, supporting cast and all the traditional ingredients of a fun-filled, family pantomime, get ready to clap, hiss, boo and cheer with all your favourite Snow White stars.
