Anyone and everyone is invited to try the health boosting activity every Tuesday between 1.30pm and 2.30pm for 4 weeks, starting on July 31st.
Absolute beginners and people with any level of experience are welcome to take part in the sessions, which will be held on the bowling green behind the Pavilion Café on Carr Road.
Children are also welcome with a participating responsible adult. Everyone attending can either register on the day or in advance through Pendle Leisure Trust’s Up & Active Team on 01282 661226.
This free event will be officially opened at 1pm on July 31st by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle, Councillor Ken Hartley and Ms Jayne Mills, with a special launch blessing incorporating a Chinese Lion Dance performance.
Lighthouse Tai Chi instructor, David Pelling, said: “Last Summer over 120 people took part on the opening day alone, and there were nearly 400 people who took part in total over the four weeks. These included people of all ages, from 6 to 96 and all abilities.”
With fellow instructor, Helena Kean, together, they regularly teach up to 300 people every week at different venues throughout East Lancashire, but the outdoor sessions in Victoria Park help them to reach out further into the community and perform in such a lovely and relaxing setting.
