We Are Undefeatable is a national campaign and movement with a goal to inspire and support people with long-term health conditions to be active. Featuring the real-life experiences of people with long-term health conditions, We Are Undefeatable aims to support people to build physical activity into their lives, in a way that their condition allows.
The campaign is led by 15 of the major health and social care charities and is backed by expertise, insight and significant National Lottery funding from Sport England, the organisation behind the award-winning This Girl Can campaign (which Pendle Leisure Trust has been supporting and taking part in throughout 2019).
One in four people are said to be affected with long-term health conditions at some point in their life, meaning they’re twice as likely to be inactive as it can impact the way we approach physical activities.
Bring active means different things to different people, making it important to find an activity that works best for you. Whether it’s a casual stroll or brisk walk around the park, a leisurely bike ride or something more structured, such as fitness classes or a gym session, there’s something out there for everyone.
We’re always supportive of our members’ fitness goals and aim to help them reach their target, whether that’s to improve their overall fitness, build muscle or lose a few pounds. Across our leisure facilities we have four gyms, three swimming pools and over 100 fitness classes to choose from, meaning there’s plenty of activities for you to try.
Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne is also home to the Feelgood Factory. This unique gym provides a range of power-assisted machines designed for use by anyone, regardless of age, mobility or fitness level, making it ideal for people recovering from illness or with limited mobility.
