We all know that when we’ve had a long day at work or woken up feeling extra tired that we more often than not manage to talk ourselves in and out of going to the gym or for a quick dip in the pool.
We’re all guilty of it, but it's not something we’re necessarily proud of, we know it’s really important to try to keep motivated. But how we hear you ask? Below we’ve put together our Top 4 Tips on Getting Motivated for a Gym Workout or Swim.
So next time you’re debating whether you should or shouldn’t go, you can flick back to this blog and get yourself in the mood to go!
Tip 1: Remember why you started and how far you’ve come since you first started. Would you really want to set yourself back by missing a work out or two?
Tip 2: Surround yourself with motivation. Is there a particular dress or suit you’re trying to fit into? Hang it somewhere visible so that you see it every time you enter your bedroom. Or why not try setting your phone/laptop/tablet screen with an inspirational quote for some extra motivation!
Tip 3: Work out with a partner that will cheer you on. Having a partner standing behind you, yelling at you to keep going when you’ve hit a barrier is often the best motivator to keep going!
Tip 4: Write down how you feel after every workout. So, when you are low on motivation to go to the gym or for a swim, you can pull out the document and read how great you felt afterwards.
So, how are you feeling now? Motivated? Great, now is the perfect time to go and workout!
